My parents were divorced when I was about 2 months old. All I know about my father is that he was in the 101st during Viet Nam, and that his name is James Raymond Newkirk. My mother destroyed all pictures of him and actively prevented my contacting him. She remarried and I was adopted around 1970 (hence the name change). She also tried to keep me from joining any service, but that she failed in -- I retired from the Air Force in `94.
