Subject: Missing U.S. Soldier in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan, July 16 (UPI) -- U.S. soldiers in eastern Afghanistan are distributing and posting leaflets about a comrade believed to have been kidnapped in the area, the military said.

The U.S. soldier and three members of the Afghan security forces disappeared June 30.

The leaflets passed out in Ghazni and Paktia provinces have two versions, CNN reported. Both are in Pashto, Capt. Elizabeth Mathias, a U.S. military spokeswoman, said.

One shows a U.S. soldier with children. The text reads: `One of our American guests is missing. Return the guest to his home.`

The other shows a soldier kicking in a door. The text is: `If you do not release the U.S. soldier then ... you will be hunted`

The Taliban has taken responsibility for the kidnappings. U.S. officials say the four missing men were traded to Siraj Haqqani, a warlord who operates in both Afghanistan and Pakistan, the report said.
