96-foot Christmas tree up at South Coast Plaza

    THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER
COSTA MESA – It`s not Halloween yet, but the Christmas season came to South Coast Plaza Friday morning.
Workers from Victor`s Custom Christmas Trees, hoisted a 96-foot fir into place outside Westin South Coast, marking the 30th year for the tradition.

A crew member from Victor`s Custom Christmas Trees attaches a strap from South Coast Plaza`s 96-foot Christmas tree to a crane early Friday morning outside the Westin South Coast in Costa Mesa.

The tree, which South Coast Plaza refers to as a `holiday tree,` arrived after a two-day, 650-mile journey from Mt. Shasta. A 200-ton crane positioned it in front of The Westin.
For the third year in a row, the driver who brought the tree from Mt. Shasta sent tweets during the trip.
