It was around this time when Doc Nowlin took a round to his gut in a non-descript firefight in TK. From what I recall we got on line to do a recon by fire with little to no return fire except for that one round that got Doc. He died a few days later in the hospital. Another sad day for C Co and 3rd platoon when David T gave us the word. We were devastated by the news. Doc was liked by all. He was always there for us.
